Bike & Balloons In this experimental image (one of a series) I was trying to use Xara Xtreme to stylize a SketchUp model for a more hand-rendered look. In this case the 3d models were 'components' modeled by my friend Alan Fraser from the UK. He is an artist for FormFonts.Com that is like a clip art site but it features 3d models that modelers can use to enhance their projects. For this image two jpeg exports from SketchUp were brought into Xara Xtreme and manipulated. One export had only edge lines (no colour or shadows) and the other had just the colour and shadows. In Xara Xtreme the final image was built up by overlaying several plug-in processed copies of the original imported images. By combining filter effects with transparency effects the final effect was developed. The technique involves a fair amount of trial & error but in theory I should be able to replicate the final effect using images of different models. To my knowledge there isn't a single plug-in that can achieve the same effect with just a click.
