Balls & Cubes Another experiment. The cubic geometries were 3d modeled in SketchUp and then brought into Xara as 2d vector objects for rendering. Xara gives me sophisticated rendering capabilities not available in SketchUp. Although in Xara it is a 2d drawing, the Xara tools actually allow the apparent three-dimensionality of the scene to be enhanced. When I do such experimental images I'm just trying out ideas that I hope might sometime come in handy with my work. I don't remember the exact details but this image probably took only several minutes in SketchUp and then maybe 20 minutes to a half-hour in Xara. If I had tried to draw all the shapes in Xara alone, complete with correct perspective, the overall time would have been significantly more.
