Born in '52. Educated from age 11 at the last specialist art school in the UK, trained as a traditional graphic artist within advertising,
graduated in Fine Art, jobbing portraitist, designer, dogsbody, teacher, web designer, anything to do with art.
I found Xara way back when it was Corel Xara and it was instantly the tool of choice for my vector art work. It was intuitive, fast, simple
and so very versatile (and in my opinion still leaves the heavyweight competition dead in it's tracks). I just loved the program, felt a real connection with the growing company in it's development and was very
proud to be a featured artist in the Xara Xone and to contribute to the sample art work on the Xara X CD.
None of my Xara images are great works of art, but rather they are a series of experiments in what can be achieved, what artistic styles can
be emulated, and how I can use Xara ever more often in my work to create the look I require. Xara is a vector tool thoroughbred and I thank the guys at the factory for producing the very best of art tools at the
fairest price anywhere in the graphic arts world.

I've been using Xara since version 1 and thought I'd like to send a contribution. I recently laid out a book and - although I used PageMaker
and CorelDRAW for the page layout, as appropriate, all of the original artwork was made in Xara X.
The book is a "technical manual" and gaming product based on the work of the author David Drake and his "Hammers
Slammers" novels. I had to draw vehicles, weapons and other designs based on material that was - up until this point - extant only in the author's imagination. My work was output as print quality tiffs and then
laid out - as I said above - in other software. The covers were entirely produced in Xara.
Material I drew then became rendered as 3D, real world models for gaming purposes which was neat.
I couldn't have done what I did in any other package, frankly. The finished product can be seen at www.miniwargames.com.

I am a missionary cartoonist (if you're wondering what that means—a missionary to cartoonists or a missionary who IS a cartoonist—the latter
of the two would be correct) and have been doing artwork for various publications for the past 30 years. About five years ago I started using Xara X to do final artwork on covers. But since then, I have pretty much
switched over to doing all my final art in Xara X. I currently reside in Mexico and am living with my wife and our six children. You may wonder how I get anything done at all with such a big family, but the truth is
they are my greatest inspiration and supporters for my work.
