For some time now I have been creating 100% original artwork for websites and print jobs. They are like reviving my old school days when I created my controversial notebook cover collages. Now it is pretty much the same but with 15 or 20 years experience. I always try to execute my customer's ideas using photorealistic compositions using the computer as a tool, and the muse as inspiration. This month I'm happily celebrating the 111th website created since year 2000. You can see more at lithium-design.com e-mail: lithium.design@hotpop.com

I am an avionics technician by training, A web designer by choice, and a real Commodian by gift. I began working with computers in '74, before monitors where even connected to them. I have worked both the hardware and software side of computers since then. I have seen computers progress greatly through the years. I purchased my first personal computer way back in '84. My first computer art consisted of painting individual pixels with crude and inept graphics software.

In '97 I discovered the joy of working with Xara and have drawn every chance I could since. Although my skills are no were near as good as the naturally gifted or the professionally trained, I can generate a pretty picture or two. I have used Xara to create for almost every type of visual media: web, print and TV. Xara is the ultimate king of web graphics programs. Regrettably, because of entrenched dogma, it has found a limited following in the print and TV arenas.

Born 1969 in Hanko, Finland, I started drawing probably when I grabbed a pen for the first time. As an graphic artist I am self taught, and I actually wanted to be an architect when I was younger. But computers were also interesting which lead to computer science studies at the University of Åbo Akademi (unfortunately there were no educational combinations of art and computers in those days).

Today I work as a system administrator and graphic artist at a local newspaper in Turku (so you CAN combine computers and art after all :-) , and as a freelance graphic artist and cartoonist. My usual workflow is first to sketch and draw on paper, then I scan the final black & white image to the computer where I use Xara X to put on the colour.

You can visit my galleries at www.surfnet.fi/comics/ and www.renderosity (and prints are available at www.zazzle.com/

My name is Bill Taylor, also known as Soquili. I first found the public beta of Xara X in late 2000 and have been hooked ever since. Computer graphics is a hobby that I enjoy, and provides a great way to relax after a hard day at work. I'm happily divorced from a very lovely woman. Huh? What do you mean wrong bio? Oh! Never mind!
