April 2001 Ross Macintosh
I'm addicted to Xara.
There, I've admitted it!Gary Priester should open a treatment facility in the New Mexico desert for people like me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds playing with Xara an escape from real life. Using Xara
flips a switch in my mind and all my worries fade. It helps me relax. My career in Architecture is extremely demanding and stressful. By turning to Xara I'm able to keep the career from consuming me. I
occasionally get to use Xara at work. In those instances, that can be several weeks apart, I develop architectural renderings. They are generally very satisfying to produce because they help bring a proposed project to
life. Away from work I struggle to keep the never ending demands of work at bay. Watching tv or reading a book doesn't do it for me. I've really found escape in playing with Xara. Inspired by what
I've seen in the Xara conferences at TalkGraphics.Com, I can
easily become absorbed in the program. My playing brings me great joy even when a beautiful image isn't produced. It is the creative act that means the most to me.Hey, wait a minute! I'm not so sure I'm in need
of any cures. This Xaraddiction isn't so bad. It keeps the creative juices flowing around the remaining brain cells, brings me pleasure, and isn't hurting anyone. I'm not ashamed. I'm not ashamed... Ross |
