This tutorial demonstrates how to create really rather ornate patterns starting with almost nothing. Such patterns can be used as borders using the Create Brush utility through the Freehand and Brush Tool (F3), corner flourishes, font Dingbats or even background wallpaper. I've been really interested in Victorian design recently however I do not have enough secondhand book shops around me to source lacy borders, and have pretty much exhausted any Googling possibilities. So I was reduced to having to make my own pretty patterns starting with nothing. However, I've been having the most ludicrous amount of fun. So here we go.
