Select the other wing outline and the remaining bitmap and repeat, Combine Shapes... Intersect Shapes. You should now have two wings and no bat.
Clone each wing and apply a solid fill to the clone. Select the Transparency Tool. Click on one of the solid colored wing shapes and apply a Flat, Mix 50% transparency (select Flat from the Transparency Shape drop down list on the Infobar—the transparency slider will automatically be set to 50%). Repeat this transparency operation for the other wing. The idea is to see the shape of the bitmap wings through the solid-color wings.
Select the Shape Editor Tool. Click a series of 3 straight lines from the start of the arm and around the center of the wing and to the wing tip. Drag the line segments into curves as shown on the images to the right. The bat's wing attaches to the body with an arm that supports the wing and that makes a hand in the center of the wing with long fingers to support the skin of the wing. There is a hook like thumb that extends in the opposite direction. It's all very interesting.
