With the square selected, from the Arrange menu, select Create Bitmap Copy.... In the Create Bitmap Options dialog, set the Color Depth: to True Color. In the Bitmap Size tabbed section, set the Resolution: to 300dpi. Hold down the Shift key and press Create to create the bitmap in the exact same spot as the square. (The white dashed outline shows the new bitmap which exactly matches the image beneath).
One of Xara's unique features is the ability to change the colors of a full color or grayscale bitmap image to a two color image by applying a fill and outline color to the bitmap. We'll use this feature to change the colors of the square bitmap we just created. With the square bitmap selected, find the color on the on-screen color palette that is a very dark blue (if you let your cursor rest over the colors for a few seconds, the color values will appear). When you find RGB 0, 0, 51 click the color with the Left mouse button. Now find the bright pink color, RGB 255, 102, 204 and Right click. (The little diamonds shown on the color palette illustration above indicate the fill and outline colors, left side diamond indicating the fill color and right side diamond indicating the outline color). TIP: You can pick colors that are similar then edit the colors in the Color Editor (Ctrl e).
