Select the Ellipse Tool (Ctrl F4 or L). Draw the ellipses to the sizes shown above. To draw a circle, hold down the Ctrl key when you drag. TIP: The quickest and most accurate way to draw ellipses to an exact size is to drag an ellipse to any size, then key in the Width and Height text entry boxes and press Enter (or Return) to apply the change. This only works immediately after the ellipse has been drawn and you still have the Ellipse Tool selected. This also works with rectangles and QuickShapes.
Select the Shape Editor Tool (F4). Click the tool on the page, hold down the Ctrl key (to constrain the angle of the line) then click again to the right of where you first clicked and drag out a horizontal line. Move the line so that it is in the vertical center of the bottom ellipse as shown above in the middle illustration. Hold down the Shift key (to select multiple objects) and click on the line and then the ellipse to select both. You can also draw a marquee selection rectangle around both with the Selector Tool to select multiple objects. From the Arrange menu, select Combine Shapes > Slice Shapes or press Ctrl 4. This slices the ellipse in two. Select the top half and press Delete. With the bottom half selected, switch back to the Shape Editor Tool (F4). Drag down on the top edge to give it a slight downward curve. Assemble the face as shown. NOTE: In the past, you needed to drag a marquee selection rectangle (with the Selector Tool—the arrow pointer) around the entire object or objects to make a selection. There is a new option in the Page Options dialog (Utilities > Options...) General tabbed section Select Objects Touched by Rectangle that works like Adobe Illustrator.
