Select the larger ellipse and Copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl c). Now select one of the larger ellipses on the strawberry (if the 2 ellipses are still grouped, you will need to Ctrl click to select just the larger ellipse), and Edit > Paste Attributes or hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys and press a. Repeat paste attributes until all the larger ellipses have been filled creating an indented look. Copy the small ellipse (the seed) and Paste Attributes to all the seed shapes. Your results should look like the example above. (You can delete the large ellipses that you copied the fills from (above left).
Select the pink highlight shape with the Transparency Tool. Click just above the top of the shape, hold down the Ctrl key, and drag downwards to just beyond the bottom of the pink highlight shape. Click on the bottom control point and change the Transparency slider setting to 50%. TIP: Clicking and dragging with the Transparency Tool is a faster way to create a Linear transparency. Just drag in the direction you wish the transparency to go. You can create an interactive Circular transparency by holding down the Shift key when you drag.
Clone the strawberry shape. Click on the shape with the Transparency Tool to select it. Drag upwards to just beyond halfway. Change the starting Transparency slider setting to 20%. That completes the strawberry. Take a short break and when you come back we'll add a dollop of whipped cream.
