Convert the enveloped text and rectangle to editable shapes (Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes). Then Ungroup the group of objects (Ctrl u). Clone the enveloped rectangle (Ctrl k). Apply a multicolor Linear fill using the colors and positions shown above. To apply a Linear fill, select the enveloped rectangle with the Fill Tool and select Linear from the drop down list of Fill Types on the Infobar. Drag the fill path arrows until they extend horizontally from one end of the shape to the other. To add additional color stations, double click the Fill Tool on the fill path arrow (you can reposition the color stations by dragging them or nudging them with the arrow keys). To apply the RGB colors shown above, press Ctrl e to open the Color Editor menu. Select RGB Color Model from the drop down list and enter the values in the R, G, and B text entry boxes (one value per box. For example R 255, G 204, B 204).
Next we will create a ribbon bookmark with a brass ornament. Draw a rectangle 110 pixels wide by 12 pixels tall. Try to get the size as close as you can without stretching the rectangle. Click the Curved Corners icon on the Infobar. Select Curvature from the drop down list and set the Curvature amount to 0.5. Press Enter to apply the change. Apply a vertical Linear fill using the four colors shown above. You will need to zoom in close to apply this fill. (Press the Previous Zoom magnifying glass icon on the Infobar to return to your previous view).
