When you use the Paragraph text mode, you can use the Full Justify option which inserts space between the words as necessary to align your text on the left and the right sides. Center Justify the headline by highlighting the text and pressing the Center Justify icon. Press the B on the Infobar to make the header bold face (or you can press Ctrl b with the text selected). In many books, the first several words of a new chapter are italicized, or sometimes set in caps and small caps. Highlight the first few words of text by dragging the Text Tool cursor over the text, then press the I icon on the Infobar or key in Ctrl i to italicize the text. Unfortunately Xara does not automatically convert the tick mark (') used in contractions such as we'd, don't, couldn't, etc. into the proper apostrophe ('). You can do this. Highlight the tick mark, hold down the Alt key and on your computer's Numeric Keyboard, and with Num Lock enabled, press 0146 (enter the 0 as well as the other three numbers). (Alt 0147 is an open quote and Alt 0148 is a close quote.)
Select the text, line and square, and the rectangle and group them (Ctrl g). Select the enveloped rectangle with the Mould Tool. Click the Copy Mould Shape icon on the Infobar. Select the grouped text and rectangle with the Mould Tool and press the Paste Envelope icon. The envelope is applied to the text and rectangle. An interesting feature (I dare not call it a bug) of the Paste Envelope function, is the resulting envelope is shorter than the original. Stretch the envelope vertically by dragging one of the center bounding box control handles (the small black boxes that surround a selected object) until it is the same size as the original enveloped rectangle. Name and save your drawing and take a short break.
