Select the Blend Tool (F7). Click on the top of the left line and drag to the top of the right line to create a blend. Change the number of Blend Steps on the Infobar to 9 and press Enter to apply the change. With the blend selected, Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes, then Arrange > Ungroup (or Ctrl u). Delete all but the 2nd and 9th lines. Select both lines. With both lines selected, switch to the Shape Editor Tool (F4). Click on the top right control point to select it. Drag to the left to the top control point of the left line segment. The cursor will change to a + to indicate the shape is about to be joined. Select either of the bottom control points and then press Enter. The shape will automatically close.
Position the new shape (it will be a highlight) over the glass shape as shown. With the shape selected, use the Shape Editor Tool to move the top right control point up about 1 pixel and the lower right control point down about 5 pixels.
Find the 2 duplicate center ellipses that you put aside. Select both (hold down the Shift key to select multiple objects) and Arrange > Combine Shapes > Add Shapes or press Ctrl 1. With the combined ellipses selected, use the Shape Editor Tool to select and delete the middle control points (shown above as red outlined boxes). Place the new shape as shown above right. You may need to use Shift Ctrl f or Shift Ctrl b to move the shape forward (f) or back (b) one object at a time.
