And here is the Floating Cube Stereogram.
If you have trouble looking at Stereograms the first tip is RELAX! It is not a contest. Try to focus behind the image. Don't hurry yourself. Take your time. If this does not work, try getting real close to the image on the screen so the image is very blurry. Gradually move your head backwards until the image is in focus. This generally works if the other methods fail. You should see the cube floating in front of the background. The cube will have the same pattern as the pine leaves but will have dimension.
To some people, the cube may look as though you are seeing the inside of the cube instead of the outside. This is not uncommon and there is nothing to be alarmed about. My guess is about 5% of people will see the image this way. I have never heard an explanation as to why this happens. If any of you know the reason, by all means let me know and I'll pass the information along.
I like to combine another kind of Stereogram, called floating image Stereograms with Colorfield image Stereograms. (For more information on Floating Image Stereograms see Workbook 9).
Make a duplicate of the cube and reduce it to the size shown above.
Align the floating cube to the left side of the Stereogram image (I have filled the Stereogram rectangle white to make it easier to see what we are doing with the cubes). Make a clone (Ctrl k ) and align it to the right side. Move both cubes towards the center one cube width from the edge as shown above. Add a 1pt outline and change the outline color to white.
