Hold down the Alt key and click on one of the new sections to "drill down" one level and to select the original shape (you did remember to make a clone copy didn't you?) The bounding box handles should increase to cover the entire shape. Press Ctrl f to bring the shape in back to the front. TIP: Another way to select the shape in back is to select one of the front shapes and then press the Tab key repeatedly until you select the hidden shape. Xara selects each object in the reverse order in which it was created. click the shape with the Fill Tool (F5) to select it. From the drop down list of Fill Types on the Infobar, select Circular. Drag the inside of the fill down almost to the bottom of the shape and then drag the fill path arrow up to the top of the shape. Open the Color Editor (Ctrl e). With the Color Editor open, click on the small square on the inside of the circle (at the beginning of the fill path arrow) with the Fill Tool to select it. Drag the eyedropper from the Color Editor to color 1. This "samples" the color and applies it to the selected rectangle. Click the outside square (control handle) and then sample color 6. The rest of the ice cube will be built on top of this filled shape.
Select the shape and send it to the back (Ctrl b or Arrange > Put to Back). Select the top shape with the Fill Tool (F5). Click and drag from the bottom of the shape to the top. Hold down the Ctrl key while you drag to constrain the direction of the fill path to vertical. Using the eyedropper (the Color Picker) sample the two colors (3 and 1) as shown.
