An ice cube is slick and shiny. To achieve this effect we need to create a lot of small white highlights. We could create them all by hand (or mouse) but we would be here all day and I don't know about you but I have better things to do. So... Clone the grouped dark shapes (Ctrl k) and change the fill color to 1.
Using the Transparency Tool, apply a Fractal, Mix transparency and adjust the Profile sliders and the fill path arrows as shown to create a series of small white highlights. Isn't that a lot easier than drawing each one by hand?
