Select the rounded hexagon then select the Shape Editor Tool (F4). Drag the edges, and adjust some of the Bezier control handles (the lines with the red boxes on the ends) to make the shape more irregular as shown above.

Clone the shape (Ctrl k).

NOTE: Xara has 2 ways to make a duplicate copy, Duplicate which creates the copy and offsets it down and right, and Clone which creates an "in place" copy. In addition there is Copy and Paste which copies the image to the clipboard and then Pastes the copy in the exact center of the screen, and Copy and Paste In Place (Xtreme only) which pastes the copy in the same location from which it was copied. Owners of previous versions of Xara can paste in place using the keyboard shortcut Shift Ctrl v.

Select the Freehand and Brush Tool (F3). Set the Smoothness slider on the Infobar at the top of the page to about 20% and draw 3 wavy lines like those shown above. The lines should overlap each other as well as the ends of the shape.
