Duplicate the groups and send them to the back and position them as shown. Draw 3 horizontal lines as shown above in red and use the Shape Editor Tool to match their curves as shown in the red outline.
Select the 2 front rectangle groups and group them. Select the top curve (shown in red) and the rectangle groups and Combine Shapes > Subtract Shapes. Repeat this step with the other 2 curved lines. Ungroup the group in the Arrange menu 2 or 3 times until the Break Shapes option is enabled. Then Break Shapes. Remove the portions as shown. Select the thin rectangles (if they are still grouped Ctrl click to select) and adjust the bottom edges as shown in the enlarged section shown above left. Repeat this for all 4 bottom edges. This completes the drawing stage. Take a short break before we add color.
Add background and foreground rectangles about 525 pixels wide as shown. Overlap the bottom of of the top rectangle by about 50 pixels. Select the top rectangle with the Fill Tool (F5). From the drop down list of Fill Types on the Infobar, select Fractal Plasma (the very last one). Change the colors to the 2 RGB colors shown above.
