Select the line and the cloned shape and Arrange > Combine Shapes... Slice Shapes. Delete the outside shape leaving the orange pointed shape.

Select the O-shaped rim at the top of the cup with the Fill Tool. From the Fill Types drop down list on the Infobar, select Conical. Rotate the fill path arrow by dragging either of the outside control points as shown and change the colors to those indicated. Apply 5 pixels of feathering. This gives the rim of the cup a soft rounded appearance.

Using the Shape Editor Tool, draw a 4-sided shape. Modify the shape to fit the right side of the cup and arc the left side as shown.
