Apply a Circular fill to the handle. Position the center of the fill over the top left section of the handle.

Draw a shape like the one shown above left in the blue dashed outline. Drag the sides of the shape to produce the shape shown with the black outline.

Copy the pale orange fill from the front of the cup and Paste Attributes (Shift Ctrl a) to the new shape. Modify the fill path arrows and the center of the fill as shown.

Clone the handle. Select the cloned handle and the new shape and Combine Shapes... Intersect Shapes. The feathering from the copied shape is applied to the new highlight shape as well.
