Rotate the capsule and the 5-sided shape into position. Somewhere you should have the end of the capsule shape. Rotate this shape 45 degrees, apply a white fill and place it at the end of the capsule shape.

Select the 5-sided group of shapes and apply a Linear, Mix transparency as shown above. Drag the end of the fill path arrow so it is parallel to the sides.

NOTE: If you are using an older version of Xara, you will need to apply the Linear fill to each object separately. In Xtreme you can apply gradient transparency to groups of objects and Xtreme treats the grouped objects (even blends but not contours) as one.

Select the combined shapes and apply a blue fill as shown.
