Apply a Circular fill to the bottom of the circle shape using White and 50% black. Apply a Circular, Stained Glass transparency and move the center of the transparency up and left. Change the starting and ending transparency values as shown. Place this shape in back of the top two bubble shapes. Draw a small horizontal ellipse and apply a white fill. Rotate the ellipse 30 degrees anti-clockwise. Place the ellipse over the bubble as shown and apply a small amount of feathering. Group all the bubble elements.
Group all the original black and white bubble shapes. Resize and duplicate the bubbles to the size of the black and white elliptical bubble shapes. Delete the black and white bubble shapes.
And here's the final image. OK it looks a little bit different (are you surprised?) I added more bubbles in different sizes and added a few larger bubbles in front. I made a bitmap copy of the entire image, and added a Circular, Stained Glass transparency with the center of the transparency over the corner of the soap closest to the viewer. The inside transparency is set to 100% (no transparency) and the outside is set to 0% (total transparency). The effect makes the center edge of the soap and bubbles brighter and diffused in appearance while the outside of the image is deeper and richer. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Stock market tips? Was the tutorial too easy? Too hard? Or just right? Use the feedback form on the next page to send me your comments. If you fail to submit your feedback, I take it very personally and spend the next few days sulking. So please take a second and let me know your thoughts. Your feedback is always welcome. Gary W.
