Reduce the height of the shape to 200 pixels. Right click on the screen ruler and select Delete All Guidelines. Drag 2 vertical guidelines that snap to the neck of the shape as shown above left. Create a new rectangle that is 250 pixels tall. Snap the sides to the guidelines by dragging the side bounding box handles (the black boxes) until the sides snap to the guidelines. Let the bottom of the rectangle overlap the top of the handle shape by 1 pixel. NOTE: When you drag a guideline onto the page from the screen rulers, Snap to Guidelines is automatically enabled.
Select the two handle objects and Arrange > Combine Shapes > Add Shapes (Ctrl 1). Select the shape with the Contour Tool (Ctrl F7). Drag any of the red arrow control handles towards the center to apply an Inner Contour. Change the number of Contour Steps to 2 and press Enter to apply the change. Change the Contour Width to 8pix and press Enter (or Return) to apply the change. Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes, then Arrange > Ungroup (Ctrl u). NOTE: If your contour is not smooth like mine, you may have some extra control points that are affecting the contour. Remove the contour using the Contour Tool, then switch to the Shape Editor Tool . If there are extra points delete them and reapply the contour. If this does not work then this. Sometimes there are 2 points placed one a top the other. With one of the points selected, press the Tab key repeatedly. Each press moves to the next control point in the anti-clockwise direction. If you have to press twice on one of the points to advance to the next, then there are 2 stacked points. Delete the point. If the shape becomes a line, it is the wrong point. Edit > Undo (Ctrl z), Press the Tab key again and delete the other point.
Select the center object then switch to the Shape Editor Tool. Move the top 2 control points upward 4 pixels. Select the middle shape, switch to the Shape Editor Tool and move the top of the center section up 8 pixels. NOTE: To edit an object with the Shape Editor Tool, the object must first be selected with the Selector Tool (the arrow pointer). TIP: You can switch back and forth from tool to the last one used by pressing the Space Bar. This does not work with the Text Tool.
