Select the larger object for the fork tines and using the Fill Tool (F5) apply a Linear fill using the colors shown. Double click on the fill path arrow to add an additional color. You can also drag and drop a color from the screen palette onto the fill path. If you are a new user and need help with applying fills, see Types of Fills in Workbook 31. Create a 105 x 60 pixel rectangle. Convert to Editable Shapes. Switch to the Shape Editor Tool and drag the top downward to create a gentle curve. Apply a 2-color Linear fiil. Place the shape over the fork shape as shown on the right with the new shape on top. Select the fork and the shape and Arrange > Apply ClipView. This masks the new shape inside the fork. The shape remains in one piece and can be edited or removed from the ClipView any time you want unless you convert to editable shapes.
Apply Flat (solid) color fills to the edges as shown above. Apply 1pix of feathering using the Change Size of Feather Region slider on the top right of the Infobar (shown above, top right). Group all 3 shapes.
Select the top shape (blue) and apply a 4 color Linear fill. Create a small, vertical rectangle, 4 x 20 pixels and apply Curved Corners. Make 2 clones and position all 3 rectangles as shown in the enlargement.
