This is a lot of work for a small detail but it will make the silver really look like silver. Enlarge the shell to 200%. Change the fill color to 9. Duplicate this shell, which I will call the original shell, and set it to one side. Apply an Outer Contour, 3pix to the original shell. Press the diamond icon (Insert Path) on the Infobar, to create a single shape from the contour specifications. Clone or duplicate the original shell and set it aside for the moment. We'll call this the larger clone. Apply a 15-step Inner Contour, 8pix Contour Width. Press the Position Profile arrow icon (the first arrow icon), and select Profile 1 from the drop down list of Profile presets. Select the original shell, make another Clone (Ctrl k), and offset the clone up and to the left 4 pixels in each directions. Select both and Subtract Shapes (Ctrl 2). Change the fill color to 12. This shape will be a dark reflection in the silver. Select the larger clone, and Arrange > Break Shapes. Select and delete just the outer shape. Group all the inside pieces and change the fill color to 4. Apply a Rounded, Inner Bevel using the Bevel Tool (Ctrl F3). Drag the Light Angle arrow that is in the very center of the bevel 180 degrees to point to approximately the 5 O'Clock position (see above, bottom left). Reversing the light angle makes the bevel look as if it is debossed rather than embossed. Add the dark reflection shape and the grouped bevel as shown in the final example and then reduce to 50% (the original size).
Copy the 5 colored objects shown above in the top illustration to the Clipboard (Ctrl c). Change the fill color to 9 and apply a 15-step Inner Contour, 3.5pix Contour Width. Apply a Profile 1, Position Profile preset. The Profile 1 preset, spreads out the colors so the farther from the center they are spread out, the closer together they get. This creates a more realistic fill.
Paste the colored shapes on top using Edit > Paste in Place (Extreme), or Shift Ctrl v. Group the 2 outer shapes and then group the 3 small rounded rectangles. Apply an Inner Contour to each group, 1.5pix Contour Width. Press the Insert Path diamond icon to create single shapes. Clone each group as shown in the bottom illustration above and move each clone the distance shown (2 or 3 pixels). Combine Shapes > Subtract Shapes (Ctrl 2). Change the fill color to 12 (if you have not already done so).
