Katchina If you are not sure, the Hopi are a native people of Arizona. The Kachinas are part of their belief system. More recently they have become a source of income for the Hopi artists that make beautiful handcarved Kachina dolls. These figures can sell for thousands of dollars and are very popular. I hope that my Xara Kachina will do justice to the Hopi people. This is the Eagle Kachina, Kwahu. The Hopi people live in buildings called Pueblos like the one in my drawing. They are built on moutains with a flat top called a Mesa. I live in a city called Mesa and I live on a street called pueblo.
